PIHS girls’ tennis is EM runner-up

    WATERVILLE – With matching records of 14-1, last Wednesday’s Eastern Maine Class B girls’ tennis final brought out the best competition from Presque Isle and Camden Hills.  After five matches, the Windjammers came away with the 2008 title, 3-2.

    In singles, Wildcat Amy Michaud stopped Rachel Carroll 6-2 and 6-3. Doubles team Jen Steeves and Madelyn Carson took Kerry Gross and Katie Weller 3-6, 7-5, 7-5.
    Sarah Porter fell to Erika Blauth 6-1, 6-1, and Allison Dean dropped a tight competition to Sarah Albertson 7-5, 4-6, 6-3.         Brittany Bearden and Alyssa Farley lost their fight to Lizzie Mitchell and Amanda Kava 3-6, 7-5, 6-2.
