With some beautiful weather this past weekend, it was great to see so many of you out golfing. With many great events and programs on the way, be sure to check your calendars so you can participate.
Every Sunday at 1 p.m., an 18-hole best-ball game will be held. The cost for the game is $10 plus an extra $5 for skins. This will not be handicapped, however, teams will be divided up evenly before going out to give everyone a fair shot at winning. The winning teams on each nine get paid.
Free junior clinics have begun. Every Thursday from 10-11 a.m., a clinic will be run for kids of all ages.
On Saturday, June 28, VaJoWa will host an ABC player scramble. The teams will be made the morning of the event by drawing from a hat. The cost is $15 for members and $45 for non-members. Cash prizes will be paid out to the top teams.
The annual Flag Day Tournament will be held on July 4. This can be played anytime before 3 p.m. You can set up your own pairing for the event. Each player is given a flag and when he or she reaches their target score, the flag is placed on the ground where their ball lies. The target score is 72 + whatever your handicap is. The cost is $10 per person.
Congratulations to Dave Dubois, who eagled the 17th hole from 175 yards out with a 6 iron on June 20.
