Members of the eighth grade chorus performed “”I Leave With a Song,” under the direction of Vicki King as part of the special entertainment during the Caribou Middle School’s recognition night.
The evening was not just academic recognitions but rather integrated with talented presentations by some of the class members including vocal, instrumental and dance. Following the award presentations, the class was treated to a slide show of class members at various ages. As the slide show continued, the laughter became a bit subdued and the remarks by the students less frequent, almost as if it began to register that they were closing the door on one part of their lives, and although looking forward to the future, leaving their comfort zone was a bit overwhelming.
Honor roll certificates were handed out by Susan White, principal, and staff members. Each student was called to the stage area as his academic achievements were read.
Prior to the awarding of the 8th grade recognition certificates two special awards were handed out.
Dan Duprey and Principal White awarded the Secretary of State Citizenship Award to Marc Sturzl and the Principal’s Award for 2008 went to DeMarre Doody Corriveau.
Entertainment for the annual recognition night was presented by students, Renee Dube, who lead the National Anthem; a tap dance routine to “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” by Natasha Bishop; a dance routine by Erin Kinney to “Ain’t Nothing Wrong with That”, a vocal selection by Ashley C. Ouellette and a dance routine performed by Paige Small.
