S.W. Collins 4, North Stars 3

And he’s out. VFW’s Nolan Powers tags out Woodland Eagle runner Jared Fox at third while pitcher Jacob Perreault watches in Saturday Little League action.
Matt Curry doubled to send Dayne Savage home for the tying run, and then ran to home base himself in the bottom of the sixth inning for the win on Monday. Curry totaled two hits while Donovan Savage and Dayne Savage had one hit each for S.W. Collins. Dayne Savage and Curry combined throws for 12 strikeouts on defense.
Jordyn Doucette made two hits for the North Stars including a double. Kelsie Espling, Jacob Bither and Garrick Alley all had one hit.
VFW 13, Woodland Eagles 12
A little rain delay in the middle of the game didn’t distract VFW or the Woodland Eagles as both teams matched their skills in Little League action on Saturday. Two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning just gave VFW the victory.
VFW’s Dylan Berkoski went five-for-five at bat including a home run, triple, two doubles and a single. Corey Rideout, Daniel Powers and Matt Theriault all singled. Sean Sadler played sharp on defense picking off a runner trying to steal home while Theriault made three key plays at second base.
Eagle Matt Milliard went three-for-three with two doubles, and Jared Fox singled twice. Sarah Beaudoin tripled, and Erin McBreairty singled. Fox also struck out 11 batters on the mound for the Eagles.
Savings Bank of Maine 8, Woodland Tigers 6
The Tigers took an early two-point lead in the game last Friday, but Savings Bank rallied in the fifth and sixth innings with five runs to take the victory. Brayden Burby captained the offense with a double in the fifth inning followed by Nick Matlock with three singles. Jared Doody singled twice, and Evan Nadeau added a base hit.
Tiger Derek Michaud tripled in the team’s sixth inning comeback and had two RBIs. Matt Manter doubled and singled twice while Dylan Connelly singled.
Maine Bag 4, Shop n’ Save 2
It was down to the pitching in last Friday’s game between Maine Bag and SNS. Maine Bag’s Mike Selander and Cody Herbert combined for 16 strikeouts, and SNS pitchers Jared Keaton and Kameron Manter struck out 13 batters.
Maine Bag offense was led by Selander with a double and triple while Josh Fortin doubled.
Woodland Tigers 9, Police 6
M. Manter struck out eight batters over four innings for the pitching win as the Tigers took on the Police last Wednesday. Zach Connelly and Jessica Kovach struck out five batters to close the game. Tiger offense was provided by 9-year-old Garrison Doody, Collin Patterson and M. Manter with two singles each. Dylan Conroy tripled and singled twice while Kovach singled.
Police pitchers Tyler Dombroski, Austin Caverhill and Mike Boone combined throws for 11 strikeouts. Caverhill also doubled, and Reece McDougal, Boone, Kody Theriault, Dylan Theriault and Dylan Lamothe all singled.
Shop n’ Save 13, Knights of Columbus 5
Shop n’ Save started off scoring in last Wednesday’s Little League match with K of C with four runs. Alex Losieniecki tripled to drive in Michael Marquis, Adam Collins doubled and then scored on Kameron Manter’s single.
K of C answered in the top of the second with four runs of their own. Brian Corbin, Brad Doody and Connor Plourde were walked, and Tyler Charette found his pitch to drive in two runs. Taylor Thibodeau doubled for two more runs.
However, in the bottom of the second SNS took the final lead. Marquis doubled, Losieniecki also had a double, Manter doubled twice and Jared Keaton doubled for SNS.
Charette tacked on an in-the-park home run in the final inning of the game for K of C.
Key Bank 13, Police 5
Key Bank pitchers Kaleb Corriveau and Dustin Bouchard combined for a no-hitter against the Police last Wednesday. Police batters drew 11 walks, including three drawn by Dustin Cook and two each by Austin Griffeth, Dombrowski and K. Theriault. For Key Bank, Nolan McDuffie doubled twice, Matt Frost singled and hit two home runs with two runs each and Corriveau added three hits.
Maine Bag 13, Woodland Eagles 0
An eight-run third inning with runs from Justice Flannery, Jennifer Newland, Spencer St. Peter, Ricky Sheldon and Josh Fortin propelled Maine Bag over the Eagles on June 16. Selander hit a home run, Justin Akerson tripled and Peter Schuster doubled for Maine Bag. Selander struck out six of seven batters on the pitcher’s mound.
M. Milliard doubled to lead the Eagles, and had three put-outs at shortstop in the second inning.
S.W. Collins 6, Sleepers 5
Rebecca McDougal laced a single to centerfield with two outs in the sixth inning to score Taylor Miller for the winning run of the June 16 game. Curry doubled, hit a home run and three RBIs for the winners. Miller added two hits. McDougal, Dayne Savage and Donovan Savage had one hit each.
Justin Ouellette and Connor Thibeault both doubled for Sleepers. Ouellette and Sara Huston combined pitching for 15 strikeouts.
Key Bank 18, Savings Bank of Maine 5
Nolan McDuffie struck out four Savings Bank batters to earn Key’s sixth win on June 13. Ryan Washinton and Alex Scott pitched in relief for Key Bank. Matt Frost doubled, singled and smashed a home run for Key Bank. McDuffie hit a triple while Kaleb Corriveau made three hits. Casey McCrossin notched his first Little League hit with a sharp single to rightfield.
Dylan Coty doubled and Burby tripled for Savings Bank.
Woodland Eagles 6, Sleepers 1
Six runs in the second inning won the game for the Eagles over Sleepers in Little League action. M. Milliard struck out 12 batters and Fox two for pitching control. Corey Moir, Fox and Shawn Doody all hit doubles at bat. M. Milliard doubled and tripled.
Mason Huck was the lone Sleepers’ scorer in the fifth inning.
Police 10, Knights of Columbus 4
Police pitchers Reece McDougall and Boone combined throws to allow only four runs on three hits, and were backed up by the fielding of Nick Jackson, Cook, Griffeth and Dylan Theriault in the victory over Knights of Columbus. Griffeth doubled on offense while Jackson, Boone, McDougall, K. Theriault and Cook all singled.
Charette led K of C starting the game with a bare-handed catch to throw out the first batter, and later tripled in the third inning. Jesse Page and Chelsea Martin both had hits for the Knights.
VFW10, Woodland Tigers 7
VFW scored seven runs in the first two innings, and held on to the lead for the Little League victory over the Tigers.
Berkoski sent the ball over the fence for a home run, and Jake Perreault singled twice. Sadler doubled for VFW. Berkoski pitched nine strikeouts on the defensive end.
Helping the Tigers were M. Manter with a double, Kovach with a triple and Michaud with a single.
North Stars 17, Savings Bank of Maine 5
The North Stars scored 11 runs in the third inning toward their 17-5 win over Savings Bank in Caribou Little League action. Bither swung for four hits, and drew a walk. Gunnar Bondeson, Espling and Doucette added two hits each for the North Stars.
Matlock had a base hit and drew two walks to lead Savings Bank offense. Doody scored twice over six innings.
