Lauren Chapman was selected as May’s Student of the Month from the fifth-grade “Sur’five’ors” team, by teachers Travis Barnes, Jola Hebert and Kim Barnes.
The three teachers said they selected Chapman, “Because she is an outstanding school citizen who is dependable and kind to both her classmates and teachers. Lauren maintains honor roll status while being involved in extracurricular activities like track and field, show choir, band and chorus. She always has a smile on her face and a positive attitude.” “Lauren is very deserving of this honor,” they added.
Amber Corey is the May Student of the Month for the fifth-grade “Brainiacs” team. Teachers Nella Ouellette and Cindy Levasseur said, “Amber is a very conscientious student. The responsibility she assumes at school and the quality of her work has made her an honor roll student. Some of her favorite hobbies are swimming, soccer and playing with her friends. Amber is a pleasure to know, congratulations.”
Michael Boone was named by the “WOWS” team teachers Deede Duncan and Donna Holmes to receive their team’s May Student of the Month award. The CMS teachers said of Boone, “Gentle, soft-spoken, hard worker are just some of his outstanding qualities. Michael is very diligent and consistent in his academic endeavors. Included in his extra-curricular activities are skiing, golfing, soccer, basketball and baseball. He is an avid reader and a unique, creative writer. He achieves high or highest honors every quarter. He has certainly had a challenging year personally, and yet continues to set high personal goals and achieve them. His qualities transcend school to home, as he is a great model brother to siblings, Meg and Jack.”
Peter Schuster, a sixth-grader has been named Student of the Month for May by teachers of the “6-Ceeders”, Cathy Bouchard, Ruth Dionne and John Pelletier. The team teachers said, “Peter is a student leader for the sixth grade representing his homeroom on the student organization. In every way he is an exemplary student, giving no less than his best in everything he does. This year Peter has been involved with the CMS track team, Caribou Little League and ‘Puttin’ On the Hits’. Peter will be greatly missed as he moves on to the seventh grade.”
Michael Selander of the seventh-grade team “STARS” was selected as the team’s May Student of the Month by his teachers, Roger Thompson and Holly Rhinebolt. “Michael is very active in the middle school community by being a member of the soccer, wrestling and baseball teams. He was also a member of the CMS Math Team. His favorite subjects are math and tech ed. Michael is very helpful around the classroom and is always willing to be a peer tutor. Michael is also a member of the Maine Bag Little League team.”
Ginger Kieffer was proudly named Student of the Month for May by the SWAT team teachers, Shelly Richardson, Mary Curtis and Steve Perreault who stated, “Throughout the year Ginger has shown much dedication, maturity and respect to her fellow classmates, teachers and her work. She is an exemplary student who takes pride in all of her work and endeavors. Throughout the year Ginger has also been a participant in various athletic teams including, soccer, basketball, skiing and track. Congratulations, Ginger.”
Nanette Levasseur has been selected by her grade-eight teachers, to receive the May Student of the Month award. Her teachers, Jessica Dow, Troy Barnes, Ralph Fantasia, Shannon Sleeper and Courtney Cyr all feel that,” Nanette has been consistently improving her study habits this year and her recent grades are a direct reflection of that. She is well liked by her classmates, and always seems willing to help out fellow students when needed. Nanette is a polite and conscientious student and has been an excellent role model for the classmates to follow.”
Jacob Beaupre, a member of the eighth-grade class at Caribou Middle School was selected as Student of the Month for May by his teachers. Jessica Dow, Troy Barnes, Ralph Fantasia, Shannon Sleeper and Courtney Cyr. These teachers say, “Jacob works hard in class and is extremely helpful to both peers and staff. In addition to his academic skills and sense of school citizenship, Jacob enjoys participating in sports as well. Jacob was a member of the school’s wrestling team this year and he is participating on the track team this spring. Great job Jacob.”
