Houlton – Dale Donahue, 71, died June 29, 2008, at a local hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born at Houlton July 15, 1936, the son of Clara (Stone) and Fred T. Donahue.
Dale attended Houlton schools and was a graduate of Houlton High School, and then graduated from the School of Banking. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a communicant of Saint Mary of the Visitation Church. Dale serviced eight years on the Houlton Town Council with several of those years as Secretary, many terms on the Houlton Budget Review Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals, also served on the Salvation Army Board. He was a member of the Houlton Odd Fellows #78, Past member and Treasure of Houlton Lodge of Elks #835 and a past member of the Dollars for Scholars Committee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Dorothy (Colwell) Donahue of Houlton; three sons, Timothy M. of Houlton, Thomas and his wife Kelly of Hammond, Stephen and his wife Laurin of Blaine; one brother, Fred and his wife Debbie of Bangor; His grand-children, Michael, Joshua, Rebecca, Matthew and his wife Kyli, Elizabeth and Melanie all of Houlton, Paul, Jason and Rachael of Blaine, Thomas Jr., Jennifer Kesaris and her husband Nick all of Bangor; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Hazel Botting and Joan Donahue; and one daughter Catherine.
A memorial service was held at the Dunn Funeral Home 1 pm Tues. With Deacon Al Burleigh as officiant. Friends called at the funeral home 11 am until time of service.
