Gospel music festival slated for July 12

FORT FAIRFIELD – Plans are now well under way for the 5th annual County Gospel Music Festival, Saturday, July 12, at FARM Park in Fort Fairfield.
The committee is excited about a terrific lineup of groups including The Campbells from Manchester, and The MacDonald Family Singers from Orange, Mass. The Campbells are new to the festival but are not new to Aroostook County, having ministered here in several churches over the years. Organizers are thrilled that they are going to come and share with the community.
Also new to the festival this year are Common Ground and Ginette Irving and Friends. Other groups returning are The LaClaires, Free Indeed!, The Kinney Trio, High Meadow, Higher Ground, Glorybound and the Five Smooth Stones. As always, the committee will host a full day of uplifting gospel music.
The day begins at 10 a.m. (gates open at 9 a.m.) and performances will keep going ‘til 6 p.m. A full schedule is posted at the Web site: www.countygospel.com, where those interested in attending can get directions and see photos of some of the groups and view video from past festivals.
Every effort has been made to keep costs down; tickets are $8 per person for the entire eight-hour day and children 12 and under are free, for an event you can bring your entire family to. Organizers are also exploring some avenues to provide special activities for children throughout the day. There will be vendors on site providing food and drinks for purchase. Families can also pack a picnic lunch if they wish. There will be picnic tables on site and indoor restrooms are available.
Remember, the concert is held in a covered area, so please come rain or shine. And don’t forget your lawn chairs.
