Davis, Donald, 79, Presque Isle; in Presque Isle, July 13, 2008. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. A committal with military honors will take place following the service at Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle.
PRESQUE ISLE – Donald Davis, 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday July 13, 2008, at a Presque Isle Nursing Home. He was born August 6, 1928, in Westbrook, the son of the late Clifford and Christina (Brackett) Davis.
Donald served his country during WWII as a U.S. Marine. After the war he worked at Converse Shoe and also at Indian Head as a custodian and night watchman. Donald was a very giving person of his time and often volunteered at the hospital, UMPI, and the United Way of Aroostook. He had a love of history and was always ready to tell anyone a knock- knock joke. He was a member of the Family Christian Center where he regularly attended worship.
He is survived by his wife Dolores (Plummer) Davis of Presque Isle; two daughters, Tammy Dube of Bangor and Karen Deppmeyer of Fryburg; a stepson, Terry Plummer of Washburn; six grandsons; two granddaughters; several great- grandchildren; three brothers, Blaine Davis of Maine, Carl Davis of North Carolina, Arnold Davis of Arizona; four sisters, June Hellstrom, Ruth Carver, Vergn Hess all of Florida, and Ann Perez of New York; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m., Thursday, July 17, 2008, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle with the Rev. Brendon Bridges officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. A committal with military honors will take place following the service at Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle.
