FORT FAIRFIELD – The start of summer kicked off the 2008 CANUSA golf program at Aroostook Valley Country Club. Over 30 local junior golfers from the age of 10 to 17 participate in the program, which includes lessons on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and nine-hole games on Thursdays.
“They juniors worked on their iron shots the first week, moved to the putting green on the second week and returned to working on their irons in the third week,” said Michael Hersey, junior golf coordinator. “The initial shyness of the first week turned into exuberance as the young players became more acquainted with the instructors and each other. We are very proud of the junior hard work while having fun.”
The program runs until Thursday, Aug. 14.
The program is still accepting new participants. For more information, call 476-8083.
