PRESQUE ISLE – Elvis Presley lives on, thanks to the efforts of businesses like Winnie’s Restaurant and Dairy Bar.
In honor of Presley’s untimely death on Aug. 16, 1977, the local restaurant will be hosting a live Elvis Presley impersonation contest. “On Aug. 14, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., we’ll be hosting a contest to see who can best impersonate the King. We’ll provide classic Elvis music and invite the public to com and perform their best Elvis impersonations,” said Wynne Freeman, assistant manager.
Prizes will be awarded for Youngest Elvis, Oldest Elvis and Most Convincing Elvis.
“In addition to the Elvis impersonations, Winnie’s will be hosting its weekly Antique Car Show,” said Freeman.
