    Melissa McAvoy Edwards, MBA, has a masters degree in accounting and finance and has owned the company for eight years. With Rachel Shorey Campbell working beside her for 24 years, with Sandy McNally being added to the team. Together they provide the perfect combination of education and experience.
    Calculations, Inc. has  a new office at 36 North St., Suite 2 in Presque Isle with Randy Holmes, E.A. The Presque Isle branch will offer the same reliable service as its Patten home office. Holmes can be reached at 764-2930.
    “We do payroll, bookkeeping, tax planning, income taxes, and business planning along with commercial truck licensing and reporting,” said Edwards.
    Another aspect of the business that is gaining popularity is helping truck drivers with their paperwork.
     “We can do as much or as little as they want,” said Edwards.” For some drivers, we track miles, gallons and expenses weekly (or monthly) from their trip envelopes. Others prefer to keep a little more control. They do their own totals and bring them to us each quarter. We use those numbers to prepare their fuel taxes, licenses, registrations, and income taxes.”
    Edwards and Campbell also help new or existing companies obtain their “rights” or operating authority, as well.
    “A lot of times, we save people money,” Edwards explained. “In fact, people often find that we save them enough in interest and penalties alone to pay for ourselves. Once we convince people to bring their business to us, they find we can do it faster, more accurately and with a lot less stress for them.”
    With the paperwork worries behind, people can spend their time focusing on other aspects of their business. 
    “Outsourcing is an effective business strategy— do what you do best and leave the paperwork to us,”
 said Edwards.
