First Choice Real Estate: Providing quality service to homebuyers, sellers

HOULTON – Providing quality service to both homebuyers and sellers is the goal of First Choice Real Estate. “We assist people in buying and selling real estate,” said Lisa Collett, office manager/associate broker. “We handle residential, commercial, recreation property and land.”
Located at 46 North Street, First Choice Real Estate began operations under its current ownership in January 2000. Owner, Becky Day has been in the real estate business since 1987.  
“As southern Aroostook’s largest real estate company, we are proud of our reputation for honest and straightforward service to our buyers and sellers,” said Collett.
They have seven full-time and five part-time agents, as well as an office staff of two. First Choice Real Estate belongs to the statewide Multiple Listing Service, which puts its listings in the offices of over 300 brokers in Maine. They frequently have brokers from all over the state showing their listings.  
“Plus it puts our listings on Realtor.com, which is advertised nationwide by the National Association of Realtors,” Collett said. “We also have our own Web site with featured properties.”
“For the buyer, First Choice pledges to provide knowledgeable and courteous assistance in selecting the property to fit your specific needs,” said Collett. “For the seller, we pledge to market your property utilizing many proven marketing tools, and keep you apprised of the activity concerning your property. We follow the process from listing to closing to make sure it closes as smoothly as possible.”
A large, full-service agency, First Choice Real Estate has opened a new office in Market Square in Houlton. They now have two branch offices, one in Island Falls and one in Market Square.
“With three offices, it gives us good coverage in the Island Falls, Sherman and Patten areas as well as the Greater Houlton area and north,” said Collett. “With many brokers, we can meet our customer’s needs. We are knowledgeable, professional and courteous.”
First Choice Real Estate is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday by appointment.
