    PRESQUE ISLE — Husson Continuing Education Division, located at 33 Edgemont Drive in Presque Isle serves adults who, because of work schedules, geographic locations or responsibilities, wish to attend classes in the evening or on Saturdays. The program offers a 2+2 option with Northern Maine Community College allowing credits to transfer into a bachelors degree program.

    Husson offers four 11-week terms each year, typically beginning in January, April, July and October. Each course is held once a week Monday through Thursday from 6 – 9:30 p.m.
    Providing specialized services to students, Husson offers one-on-one academic advising, small classroom settings and flexible schedules, taught by instructors who are among the best academic educators and leaders within the field they teach. Husson has been in operation since 1898 and has been in Aroostook County for over 30 years.
    Carolyn Dorsey Durepo, director of Continuing Education; graduate and professional studies, said, “Customer service is very important to Husson. It’s crucial to retaining students and allowing us the opportunity to build solid relationships.”
    Husson is now offering several new programs, sparked by enrollment spikes and community assessment. The director of continuing education also noted that “We’ve added two new graduate programs, one in criminal justice and one in school counseling.” Also new to the bachelor degree program are computer information systems and liberal studies.
    Husson offers full financial aid packages to qualified applicants and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The enrollment process is simple with most of it being handled right over the phone.
    Bachelor degree programs include: accounting, business administration, business and technology, computer information systems and liberal studies.
    Master degree programs include: business administration, criminal justice administration, nursing – family nurse practitioner and school counseling.
