Faith Houlton designs her own lunch at the new salad bar at The Par and Grill Restaurant on Bennett Drive in Caribou. The salad bar is one change that restaurant owners have implemented to improve customer service.Besides great dining, the restaurant has an indoor golf league in the winter, open to anyone wanting to play for fun or practice on any of the 31 world-renowned courses.

“It’s great food with a great atmosphere,” said Chris Richards, eatery owner.
In business since 2002, the restaurant employs eight full-time and seven part-time people.
A “very loyal customer base is the secret to continuing in business in this area,” according to Richards.
“The majority of our business is repeat customers,” he said.  “Without their continued support it would be extremely difficult to thrive in this market.”
Richards said that customers come back because the restaurant offers great customer service, great food and a great atmosphere at a “very reasonable price.”
To keep those customers coming back, Richards has recently remodeled the restaurant’s kitchen. In addition, he is considering upgrading the video golf simulator to high definition.
“Last year, we added two 50-inch and a 40-inch flat panel HD televisions to go along with the 10-foot giant screen, plus several other traditional TVs for a great view from any seat in the house,” Richards said.
Besides great dining, the restaurant has an indoor golf league in the winter, open to anyone wanting to play for fun or practice on any of the 31 world-renowned courses. The Par and Grill Restaurant also sponsors a softball team in Caribou and a team in the Northern Maine Dart League.
Located at 118 Bennett Dr., the eatery is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday through Wednesday; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday and from noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday. The restaurant’s phone number is 492-0988.
