Top of the line customer service and products are what has kept Sullivan’s Floor Covering going strong for the past 20 years.
“Our best advertising is word of mouth because we are always working hard to make sure our customers have a satisfying experience from start to finish,” said Josh Ouellette, the storeowner.
Sullivan’s, located on U.S. Route 1, just south of Caribou, sells all types of flooring, Hunter Douglas window treatments and is an authorized Oreck vacuum dealer. Ouellette, who purchased the firm in 2006, owns the company.
Because of the region’s low population, a business can’t survive without repeat customers.
“Customer service is important to our business because happy customers are more likely to be repeat customers,” said Ouellette.
Since acquiring the business, the owners have added numerous floor displays to showcase the diversity of their offerings. For example, instead of one brand of hardwood, Ouellette said that the company offers six types of hardwood flooring.
“It’s all about design choices today,” said Ouellette. “Everybody wants something different. People are looking for unique products.”
Sullivan’s boasts of having one of the largest floor covering showrooms in Aroostook County. In addition, they offer a complete selection of hardwood flooring and area rugs.
Other products include ceramic tile, carpet, laminate and vinyl flooring. Full-service and professional installation services also are offered for all the products that are sold by Sullivan’s.
Besides flooring, Sullivan’s offerings a full line of Hunter Douglas window treatments a leading design company in various types of blinds and shades. Ouellette said it’s one of the faster growing parts of his business.
Free installation is offered with the sale of the window treatments, Ouellette said.
