PRESQUE ISLE – If you’re looking for a weekend project and want to make a difference in the community, why not join friends and neighbors at the Peace Park for Community Spirit Day this Saturday, Sept. 6. “The Peace Park is located next to Winnie’s on Parsons St. Work will begin at 8 a.m. and continue through completion,” said Theresa Fowler, executive director of the Presque Isle Area Chamber of Commerce.
The goal is to make the park a destination where families and friends can gather for fun, recreational activities. Centrally located in the Star City, the site is easily accessed by road or ATV trail.
“This year, Lowe’s Home Improvement has joined the annual effort to improve the beauty of our city,” said Fowler. “This is an annual event to clean up, fix up and spruce up a corner of our community.”
Materials will be provided and a free barbecue will be held for all participants.
