Image    Whitney Elizabeth Thompson and Jacob Paul Callnan, both currently of Houlton, have announced their engagement. Whitney is the daughter of Lissa and Randy Thompson of Houlton. Jacob is the son of Paul and Cindy Callnan, also of Houlton.
    The prospective bride is a graduate of Houlton High School, 2004, as well as the University of Maine at Orono, 2008, with a degree in child development and family relations. Callnan works at Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard as a nuclear engineer. He is a graduate of Houlton High School, 2004, as well as the University of Maine, 2008, with a degree in electrical engineering.
    The couple plans a Sept. 27, 2008 wedding.
