Caribou finishes season at 8-3-2
    The boys soccer team from the Caribou Middle School completed its season Thursday with a 1-1 double-overtime tie against Presque Isle White.     Caribou led until eight seconds remained in regulation, when the White team popped in the tying goal. The two teams played through overtime without scoring. Zac Gorence scored the Viking goal on a header off a beautiful cross off the foot of Dean Walker. Eric Tillmont played a strong game for Caribou.
    Last Tuesday, the Vikes got past Presque Isle Blue, 4-1, on the strength of three unanswered second-half goals and outstanding defense and passing throughout.
    Adam Collins put in two of the goals for the winning team, while Gorence and Kameron Manter were the other goal scorers. Nolan McDuffie chipped in with two assists and Walker had another. David Pelkey was outstanding in goal, while Mikey Selander, Sean Barbosa and Lucien Caverhill sparked the defense.
    Coach Steve Perreault’s Caribou team ended up with 37 goals on the season while allowing 16. Walker was the leading point scorer with six goals and five assists. Collins had eight goals and an assist,  McDuffie two goals and six assists, Nick Matlock five goals and two assists and Gorence three goals and an assist.
Ski clinic planned at UM-Presque Isle
    The University of Maine at Presque Isle ski team will offer a dry-land ski clinic for master skiers Friday through Sunday in Presque Isle. The clinics will be held at both the Nordic Heritage Ski Center and the university’s Gentile Hall facility. All proceeds from the $40 fee go to support the UMPI ski team.
    The three-day clinic of workshops and presentations is designed to introduce and develop dry-land training techniques as essential preparation for a successful competition ski season. Activities include running, roller skiing, strength, plyometrics, dry-land drills with running poles, and stretching. This clinic is recommended for cross-country skiers with basic experience on roller skis and the capability to do a 30-minute run.

Pool classes offered
    The Presque Isle Indoor Pool will offer a guard start, first aid and CPR class Friday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. both days.
    Participants must be level IV or above. Call the indoor pool at 764-2564 to register.
Wrestling coming to Forum Saturday
    AWA Pro Wrestling makes it return to Presque Isle with “Fall Brawl at the Forum” Saturday night, Oct. 4. The event will be held at the Forum with a start time of 7:30 p.m. The doors open at 7 p.m.
    This great night of wrestling action will feature the WWE Legend, Bushwhacker Luke, one  half of the Bushwhackers tag team. The Bushwhackers had enormous success in the WWE. Luke was involved in feuds with the Rougeau Brothers, the Natural Disasters, and the Beverly Brothers.             Making his debut will be the Egyptian Giant, Pharaoh, who stands 7 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 350 pounds.
    Also on the card will be a North Atlantic Heavyweight Championship match as the champion, John “The Bomb” Bryar, will defend against hometown wrestler, Kyle Wells. With the crowd behind the local, Wells, will that be enough to help him capture the gold?
    Advance general admission tickets are only $10 in advance. Front row tickets are $15 and are only available in advance. Advance tickets are available at the Forum and Industrial Street One Stop in Presque Isle.
    Tickets are also available at the door the night of the show for only $13.
