Bank, staff, customers donate $16,000
PRESQUE ISLE – Katahdin Trust Co., with 14 Aroostook County branch offices, has extended its service to county residents by donating $16,000 to the Pine Tree Chapter of the American Red Cross Aroostook County Branch. The local Red Cross is using the funds, which include a $10,000 gift from the bank, $2,000 collected from Katahdin Trust Co. employees, which was matched by another $2,000 from Katahdin Trust Co., and $2,000 from caring customers and neighbors, to assist people affected by the spring floods in “The County.”

The final portion of these funds was presented recently to Joyce Knorr, the Chapter’s Aroostook County Branch manager, by Vicki Smith, Katahdin Trust’s senior vice president for marketing and Bonnie Foster, senior vice president for retail services.
“The local Red Cross depends on generous county contributors for its disaster relief and other important services,” said Knorr. “Katahdin Trust has been a valued partner for years, helping county residents through corporate gifts, employee ‘Champion of the Red Cross’ gifts, and the annual winter sale of more than 1,000 stuffed animals to benefit the local Red Cross. We are very proud and pleased to call the good people at Katahdin Trust Co. our friends, our supporters, and our partners in service to Aroostook County.”
