The 150th Celebration Committee has begun its fundraising efforts for Caribou’s 150th Celebration activities. The committee will have a booth at this year’s Caribou Arts and Crafts Festival at the Caribou High School, Oct. 18 and 19.
The celebration committee encourages business, clubs, groups and organizations that would like to host an event during the months-long celebration to sign up early. Registration forms will be available for anyone group wishing to participate in Caribou’s 150th celebration at the Caribou Chamber of Commerce office, located in the Downtown Mall. The committee requests any organization or group looking to be part of SesquiCelebrate Caribou, to submit their registration form to the committee by Dec. 12. This will allow the committee time to complete their SesquiCelebrate Caribou Book of Events brochure which will be advertised state-wide.
The committee will have a booth at this year’s Caribou Arts and Crafts Festival at the Caribou High School, Oct. 18 and 19. Committee members will be selling a number of commemoratives including SesquiCelebrate Caribou coffee mugs, historical photo calendars, T-shirts, sweatshirts and limited edition signed John Holub prints of Caribou Village in 1883.
Business and individuals are offered, by the 150th committee, an opportunity to donate in various amounts and be recognized for the following levels: platinum — $1,000; gold — $500; silver — $250; and bronze — $100.
The 150th Celebration Committee is seeking volunteers, clubs and service organizations to work in a variety of capacities. Sesquicelebrate Caribou will include events that require physical labor, technical support, research, artistic ability and most of all enthusiasm.
Please sign up and get involved because it will take all of us to make Caribou’s 150th Anniversary a year to remember.
