Mr. and Mrs. Brenton Colson, from Hudson, New Hampshire, have been recent guests of his cousin, Charlene Webb and husband, Clayton. While here they toured the area and also took a ride up to Mapleton to visit with a college friend of the Colsons that Brenton hadn’t seen for 28 years. They had a great time reminiscing. Brenton also hadn’t seen Charlene for about 17 years so they had a lot to catch up on. The Colsons have since returned home to New Hampshire.

I have not seen any gold finch at my feeders recently, but I have suddenly been seeing a lot of chickadees and one lone blue jay. I keep the feeders well supplied with seeds to keep them all happy. The black cat is seen only now and then — think he only comes around to check on the feeders and see if he can snatch one of the birds there.
I have been having a ball watching the deer playing in my back yard, which I am sure they regard as their playground. The other day there were five deer there, three does and two lambs and those lambs were really having a ball. One (the smallest) was running and leaping when one doe and a lamb ran into him and almost knocked him off his feet. He stood there a few minutes to get his bearing then took off again. When it gets colder, I plan to put out some old apples for them.
