School consolidation informational meetings continue around region

    The Regional Planning Committee has completed the plan for consolidation of the following local school districts: Bancroft, Hersey, Moro Plantation, Orient, SAD 14, 25, 29, 70 and CSD 9.
    Informational meetings for the public have been scheduled as follows:
    Bancroft Town Office, Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 6:30 p.m.;
    Katahdin High School Auditorium, Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m.;
    East Grand School Cafeteria, Thursday, Oct. 16 at 6 p.m.;
    So. Aroostook School Multipurpose Room, Monday, Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m.;
    Hersey, Kat. Elem. School, Monday, Oct. 27 at 6 p.m.;
    Moro Plantation, Kat. Elem. School, Monday, Oct. 27 at 6:30 p.m.; and
    Houlton High School Auditorium, Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 6:30 p.m.
    The informational meetings are designed to present an overview of the Plan and to answer any questions the public may have concerning what the proposed new Tri-Country Regional School Unit will look like if approved by the voters at the Nov. 4, 2008 election.
    Everyone is both welcome and encouraged to attend any or all of these meetings in order to cast an informed vote at the November 4, 2008 Referendum Election.
