To the editor:
    I want to thank everyone who attended First Wind’s open house in Oakfield on October 1st. Our hope was to provide an opportunity for everyone in the local community to come learn more about the proposed Oakfield wind energy project.
    More importantly, we wanted to hear from those of you who live here, answer your questions, and show you all the careful work and planning that goes on long before we even submit any permits to the state or towns. Your input is a critical component to the project and that’s why we appreciate the time everyone took to come out this week. We expect to have future open houses like this in the near future, and we welcome anyone and everyone to come on out to them.
    Your feedback is important to us, and you have an important voice as we move forward through the permitting process. We look forward to having additional open houses and welcome you to attend. Details on the times and dates will be submitted to the Houlton Pioneer Times.
