9 a.m. Van Buren Road — Check on Wellbeing — Caller reported being concerned about a male subject because she had not seen him since earlier in the week. It was believed that subject was with a runaway foster female subject from Fort Fairfield . Action — Police informed caller that if subject was seen or if they heard anything about him, she would be informed. Information was passed on to caller that subject was in Presque Isle and appeared to be OK.
12:15 p.m. Caribou Middle School — Suspicious Person — Police were advised of a vehicle parked out in front of the middle school with a male occupant just sitting there alone. Caller informed police that this vehicle had been seen in the proximity of the park and the school on several occasions and personnel were suspicious.
Action — Officer located vehicle and subject and advised that he was causing concern with his presence and requested him to leave the area, which he did.
2:30 p.m. Harvest Road — Domestic — Caller stated there seemed to be a fight going on at the residence across the street as a lot of yelling and screaming could be heard; also sounded like things were being thrown around.
Action — Subject was located and arrested for domestic violence.
10:08 p.m. Bennett Drive — Disorderly Conduct — Caller reported a group of individuals fighting in the parking lot.
Action — Police learned two female subjects had teamed up against a third female; they were all gone before the officers arrived. Sounded as if one subject had been pinned against the wall.
2:28 a.m. Presque Isle Road — Assault — Caller advised he was staying with a female individual and they had argued; when he went to leave the residence he was assaulted and was at that time walking South on Route 1.
Action — Police were told by caller that two male subjects had assaulted him by jumping him from behind. Police suggested he leave the area with a friend he had called to pick him up. Police spoke with one of the male subjects and other family members who advised caller had been drinking and sounding off and had been told to leave.
2 p.m. Bennett Drive — Criminal Trespass — Caller from the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department requested police notify five subjects advising them they are not to return to any recreation property until after Dec. 31, 2008. A letter and the criminal trespass statue are to be served on each subject.
Action — All parents/guardians were served with the paperwork and criminal trespass warnings on Oct. 3
2:40 p.m. Access Highway — Mental Subject — Caller requested assistance with her son who had not been acting right and it was believed he needed mental help.
Action — Officer assisted with contacting AMHC.
2:40 p.m. Access Highway — Animal Complaint — Caller advised of animal abuse and asked to speak with the Animal Control Officer.
Action — Officer would contact Animal Control Officer.
6 p.m. Rose Acres — Agency Assistance — Caribou Fire requested police assist at Rose Acres as all ambulances were tied up and there was a subject who had fallen; requested police to stand by at the address until they were able to get there.
Action — Police rendered aid until ambulance arrived.
7:27 p.m. Park Street — Suspicious Vehicle — A female caller reported a vehicle kept pulling into her driveway, sitting a couple of minutes then leaving.
Action — Officer will check the area for vehicle.
12:46 a.m. Jacobs Avenue — Disorderly Conduct — Male caller advised he was trying to sleep and subjects in another apartment have their music up too loud, keeping him awake.
Action — Officer spoke with a male subject advising him to keep the noise down.
12:47 a.m. South Main Street — Disorderly Conduct — A male caller reported an intoxicated female subject was banging on his door and he had no idea who she was.
Action — Officer located very intoxicated female subject and sent her on her way. No warrants.
1:39 a.m. Jacobs Avenue — Disorderly Conduct — Caller advised subjects were throwing firecrackers off the balcony.
Action — Officer warned subjects. Both individuals denied doing anything.
2:04 a.m. Collins Street — Disorderly Conduct — Caller advised of a female subject living upstairs woke her kids up with her music.
Action — Subject was warned regarding her music.
2:32 p.m. Fort Road — Theft — A female caller reported the theft of a riding lawn tractor.
Action — Caller was informed a card would be made.
5:23 p.m. Newton Avenue — Suspicious Activity — An anonymous male called advising of five juveniles going from house to house asking for donations to go to the roller rink.
Action — Officer located juveniles on Marshal Avenue. They wanted to rake lawns to get enough money to go to the rink. Officer sent them on their way.
8:13 p.m. Myrtle Street — Domestic — Caller reported a family member had just punched him in the face and his lip was bleeding; requested to speak with an officer.
Action — Officers reported the two males had gotten into a verbal altercation that had turned physical. They were all set; no charges pressed.
10:24 p.m. Jacobs Avenue — Concerned Citizen — Caller reported a male and female subject were outside in the driveway arguing over keys to a vehicle.
Action — Couple were arguing over a vehicle purchased by the male subject and insured by the female subject. Both were claiming ownership. All set for now.
11:40 p.m. Bennett Drive — Police Information — Police received a hang-up call from a local business and called back to see if there was a problem. A female answered and said, “Well, kinda, a male subject was creating problems inside but was at that time outside.
Action — Police checked and found subject had a condition of release; must not possess any alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs. Officers located subject who was very intoxicated and arrested him for violation of release.
2:50 a.m. Sweden Street — Noise Complaint — Caller reported a party in another apartment; were kids running up and down the stairs making it impossible to sleep.
Action — Officers spoke with tenant and advised if there were further complaints court action would be taken.
3:30 p.m. Bennett Drive — Police Information — Police were advised of complaints regarding a male subject who had been behind the Rec Center, the Alternative Learning Center, had walked through the carwash and also seen behind another local business.
Action — Subject was located at a local business and advised he was not to return to the business nor go behind any other, if he did so he would face charges.
5:34 p.m. Thompson Road — Assault — Police were advised of a fight at a local business. Supposedly an altercation had broken out between a male and female. A second call informed police of a vehicle towing another vehicle had hit several people as it was leaving.
Action — Caribou Police notified other area police departments as well as the Border Patrol, which stopped the vehicle on the Grand Falls Road. Police met the vehicle and spoke with the operator who admitted he had struck a female; subject was charged accordingly. Investigation continued with more charges pending.
7:22 p.m. Plante Road — Violation of Protection Order — A female caller wanted police to be aware that a male subject, against whom she has a protection order, was driving by her residence. Female called a second time regarding the same issue.
Action — Officer spoke with subject finding that he had not been on the Plante Road and was able to verify this with several friends.
8:30 a.m. Vaughn Street — Phone Harassment — Male caller stated he had received a call from a subject who said he was with the phone company. Subject informed him he had gone over his minutes and tried to get caller on a different plan.
Action — Caller was advised by police that they would try to obtain a subpoena for the person assigned to the number the call came from if need be.
12:30 p.m. Route 89 — Domestic — Caller advised police of a couple in an upstairs residence had been arguing all the previous evening into that morning; caller could hear things banging around and thinks they are getting physical.
Action — Officer spoke with couple who admitted to a verbal argument. Both subjects were advised of complaint and warned if officers had to return they could be charged with disorderly conduct.
3 p.m. Pleasant Street — Suspicious Vehicle — A male caller reported a vehicle at the house next door to his that didn’t belong there.
Action — Officer checked the area and found the owner of the suspicious vehicle was home on leave and had a different car than when he had left.
9:28 p.m. Caribou Street — Disorderly Conduct — Caller advised of a male subject who was in the area causing problems. Caller reported subject was around the Lions building. A second call came from another male who stated one of his tenants had contacted him from Lyndon Street saying the male subject was there and was very intoxicated. Second caller stated he had been informed that subject was trying to gain entry into one of the apartments and when he couldn’t he had urinated on the hallway rug.
Action — Police checked the area but could not locate subject.
10 p.m. Pleasant Street — Suspicious Activity — Male caller said he was staying at a female’s residence and one of the other tenants keep taking pictures of his vehicle. Caller advise police that when he tried to talk to subject about what she was doing, she would go back into her apartment and lock the door, refusing to speak to him. Caller was just wondering what was up.
Action — Female subject is a soon-to-be evictee and was taking pictures for her civil problem.
10:21 p.m. Lyndon Street — Criminal Trespass — Caller reported an unwanted subject at a residence.
Action — Officer learned that caller initially wanted one of two females present to leave but couldn’t decide which one so he ended up letting them both stay. Police warned if they had to return because of a noise complaint, he may be facing charges.
11:02 p.m. Washburn Street — Disorderly Conduct — Caller informed police a female subject in an apartment was making all kinds of noise.
Action — Subject had been on the phone with her father in reference to his girlfriend and was quite upset about the situation at his house. Subject was advised to let the police take care of her father’s situation and to try to keep the noise level down.
11:05 Lyndon Street — Disorderly Conduct — Female caller informed police that a second female at the residence needed to leave.
Action — Officer asked male tenant whose apartment it was; tenant replied it was his. Officer then asked if male wanted the female to leave; he said no, which upset the other female who said she would leave. At that point female called for a taxi and officer waited for its arrival.
4:45 p.m. High Street — Disorderly Conduct — Police were notified by the Caribou Public Library regarding a group of juveniles she had just removed from the area and they were then standing in the doorway hollering profanities. Caller advised group was last seen walking down South Main Street.
Action — Officer located the subjects on Water Street. A male stated that some female there at the library had made an allegation against him and when he left he had yelled the profanity. All subjects were advised not to return to the library. Male subject was charged for possession of cigarettes by a minor.
5:43 p.m. Limestone Street — Disorderly Conduct — Female caller requested police come to her residence regarding a problem with four teenagers outside.
Action — Officer spoke with subjects and the caller’s 8-year-old son who had asked the teens what they were doing in the street. One subject had told the youth to come over and see. The mother told them to leave and subject had said he was not going anywhere. Words were exchanged between the male subject and the caller’s family. All four subjects were advised to move it along, with one being told to keep his mouth closed.
10:18 p.m. Bennett Drive — Theft — Police were advised of individuals in a red vehicle removing some political signs that were posted on Bennett Drive.
Action — Officer located vehicle and spoke with the four occupants. One subject admitted to putting the signs in the trunk; another lied about any signs in his car. Issue will be discussed with Chief Gahagan to see if charges are to be pursued.
5:02 p.m. Bennett Drive — Suspicious Person — Employee from a local business advised of a male subject trying to cash a check from an account that did not have sufficient funds and had been denied. Subject had been sitting out in the parking lot since that time.
Action — Subject had left the area prior to police arrival ; vehicle had been left in the area. Officer spoke with the subject who stated the vehicle was out of gas and he would move it from the parking lot.
7:12 p.m. Van Buren Road — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Caller advised police of a vehicle that was weaving back and forth crossing the center line of the road; northbound on the Van Buren Road.
Action — Officer was in the area, some distance behind the subject vehicle but would try to locate. Officer spoke with operator who admitted she had been distracted by her dog and eventually had to pull over to take care of the animal.
7:24 p.m. Pleasant Street — Criminal Mischief — Female caller reported she needed to evict a tenant who had done an extreme amount of damage, pulling up rugs and damaging the walls.
Action — Officer would follow up on complaint; female would compile a list of damages.
7:57 p.m. Washburn Street — Theft — A male individual came into the police station stating that he had recorded a subject stating he had stolen his camera.
Action — Officer spoke with subject who admitted taking the camera, stating the two of them had made an arrangement to get the camera or pay him back. Male said they did have a mutual agreement on returning the camera. Police would check with the district attorney’s officer to see if they would go forward on a theft charge or if this would be considered a civil matter.
11:50 p.m. Van Buren Road — Suspicious Person — Caller advised noticing two young looking subjects standing outside the house across the street, stating they were going back and forth from the road to the house; thought it was strange that subjects would be out at this time of day.
Action — Individuals were new neighbors who were outside smoking and walking their dog; individuals did advise they appreciated their fellow neighbors being attentive of what goes on in the area.
