Sawyer Deprey, left, age 5 and his brother Parker, 6, were up and about early Monday morning checking out the game situation with their grandfather Dana Johnston. Johnston said he had seen six moose earlier that morning and decided to pick up his grandsons so they too could see the game. However, their early morning cruising resulted in no sightings so Johnston took the boys to where he knew they would get to see the usually visible creatures —NorthStar Variety on Route 161, a licensed game station. There, just hours into the second week of moose hunting, the parking lot was rapidly filling up with signs of successful hunting.
