Mapleton – Joyce G. Wilder, 82, wife of the late Harry L. Wilder, died at her home, October 5, 2008. She was born July 23, 1926, in Bridgewater, the daughter of Walter and Marion (Welch) Hutchinson.
Mrs. Wilder grew up in Monticello and graduated from Ricker Classical Institute. She co-owned and operated Wilder’s Jewelry Store with her husband, who she married in 1957. She had also been employed at the Madigan Hospital in Houlton and the WAGM radio station in Presque Isle. Mrs. Wilder was a long time resident of Presque Isle and Mapleton and was a member of St John’s Episcopal Church for many years.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by, a sister, Carol Ann Hutchinson Stewart, and a brother, Roger Hutchinson. Surviving her, is her daughter, Carol Ann Wilder of Battlecreek, Michigan; a brother, Wayne Hillman Hutchinson of Montrose, Pennsylvania; several nieces, nephews, great-grandnieces and nephews and several cousins.
Graveside services were conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 8th, at the Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle with the Rev Dr Robert Smith as officiate.
