1:29 a.m. Bennett Drive — Disorderly Conduct — Police noted that throughout the city, a lot of political signs had been knocked down or damaged. Those on Sweden Street, Hatch Drive, Prospect Street and Bennett Drive seem to have had the most damage. 10:35 a.m. Fort Street — Animal Complaint — Police were advised of stray dogs on Fort Street, one of which nearly being struck by a vehicle.
Action — Officer paged Animal Control Officer. Officer captured the two runaways and turned over to ACO. Canine owner was notified and came in to the station and paid the dog fee.
12:20 p.m. Washburn Street — Disorderly Conduct — Caller reported having trouble with a neighbor and wanted to speak to an officer regarding the problem.
Action — Officer spoke with caller advising that since the problems are with a neighbor in the same building it would be best handled by the landlord, as it was not a police issue.
4:30 p.m. Nebraska Road — Theft — Caller informed police that he had some four-wheeler tires and rims on his lawn for sale and discovered they were missing. He advised he had had them chained up and someone had cut the chain. The items were taken between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The four tires mounted on rims should only fit a Kawasaki 650 or bigger; should have five oval-shaped stud holes in them.
11:38 p.m. Bennett Drive — Disorderly Conduct — Caller advised when he was leaving a local business he could hear some type of disturbance coming from in between another business and a bank.
Action — Officer checked the are and did not locate anyone.
2:05 a.m. Harvest Road — Bail Violation — Caller stated his brother, had been drinking all day and was there tearing the house apart, using a broom handle or something to beat on the walls and smash things.
Action — Officer located subject, who was very intoxicated, at the residence. Subject was brought to the police station for bail violations.
3:55 a.m. Access Highway — Noise Complaint — Caller advised he had been awakened by a group of people walking on the Access highway talking very loudly; could not tell how many individuals there were or which way they were headed. As officer was leaving to check the area, a motorist stopped reporting what appeared to be a group of four juveniles walking on the Access Highway, in the area of a local business.
Action — Officer located four subjects walking to town, and advised them to stay our of the road and to keep the noise down.
11:57 a.m. Cary Medical Center — Agency Assistance — Police were requested to come to the emergency room to assist with a patient who was being belligerent.
Action — Subject left when the officers arrived, stating he was going to seek legal advice.
5:39 p.m. High Street — Disorderly Conduct — Officer stopped to move four subjects from in front of a business on High Street, which has always been off limits to loiters. Subjects started walking toward downtown and when officer drove by, one of the subjects started screaming.
Action — Officer turned around again and stopped the subjects. All four were warned of creating a disturbance and that they would be charged if their actions continued.
7:40 p.m. Access Highway — Motor Vehicle Complaint — A male caller reported following a vehicle that was all over the road.
Action — Officer determined operator to be an elderly individual having a difficult time driving.
7:49 p.m. Bennett Drive — Disorderly Conduct — Caller from a local restaurant advised of a group of teenagers hollering at the customers; they had been told to leave and refused.
Action — Subjects were gone from the area when officer arrived.
7:52 p.m. Nancy Street — Fire — Caller stated the house next door was on fire.
Action — Police contacted the fire department and the dispatch officer. Caller phoned back saying to disregard because the neighbor was having a fire in their backyard. The fire department was notified to cancel the call. They advised they had a permit out for the residence.
9 p.m. Skyway Plaza — Disorderly Conduct — Police were informed by a State Trooper that he was at a local restaurant there was a fight in progress.
Action — the Trooper separated the two subjects until officers arrived to handle the problem. One subject was told to leave and not to return that evening.
9:52 a.m. Pleasant Street — Assault — Police were advised of two juveniles at an address on Pleasant Street were involved in an altercation resulting in one subject pushing the other who in turn head-butted him.
Action — Officer went to address to determine what had taken place. One juvenile was summoned for assault.
1:23 a.m. Collins Street — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Caller indicated a vehicle had been burning out and squealing its tires in front of his residence. Vehicle was then across the street.
Action — Officer located a male and female inside the parked vehicle. Male subject belligerently denied it was him. Officers warned further conduct by him of that nature would result in arrest. Vehicles tires showed signs of being spun. Female chimed in that vehicle was parked.
2:02 a.m. Collins Street — Disorderly Conduct — Caller indicated there was a disturbance and a lot of nose at a Collins Street address. Police received a second call from a female at the same time advising of the same type of disturbance.
Action — Officers located a male and female subject arguing outside the apartment building. Male was supposedly leaving the area per another resident .
6:12 a.m. Collins Street — Disorderly Conduct — Female caller reporting a female subject had her music turned up loud and it was waking her kids up. As she was speaking, police could hear the music over the phone.
Action — Officer spoke with subject and advised her of the complaint and that it would be in her best interest to turn it down. At 6:22 a.m. officer was still at the scene and subject had the music turned back up. Subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
10:56 a.m. Access Highway — Motor Vehicle Complaint — A male caller advised of a vehicle heading towards Limestone on Rout 89, making bad passes, cutting vehicles off. Vehicle was described as a dump-truck hauling a trailer with a race care on it.
Action — Officer located vehicle operator who stated he had been having mechanical problems with his vehicle. Subject was informed of the complaint.
2:53 p.m. Main Street — Alarm — Police were advised of an alarm at the animal hospital.
Action — Officer spoke with owners who thought a cat had probably set the alarm off. Everything was all set.
3:25 p.m. Thompson Road — Harassment — A female called 9-1-1 from a local business reporting she was being harassed by an ex-boyfriend and his friends, one of which threw something at her.
Action — Officer checked the location, speaking with all involved and everyone was all set for the time.
7:30 p.m. South Maine Street — Violation of Protection Order — Female advised her husband had been calling, threatening to do damage to her vehicle, telling her she was going to wake up in the morgue, etc.
Action — Officer arrested male subject for violation of protective order. Subject stated female had called him announcing she had sold a lot of his tools, was leaving the area and wanted him to take over the house. Male continued stating female was the one who had been calling him. Statements were taken from female.
9:45 p.m. Main Street — Burglary/Theft — Female called explaining she believed another female had stolen $ 105, from her purse while at a local business. She explained that she was only with subject for the hour that her money was taken.
9:45 p.m. Hardison Avenue — Check On Well-being — Caller reported not seeing her nine-year-old son for months, juveniles resides with the father.
Action — Officer checked father’s residence; vehicles were in the yard but no answer at the door. Son contacted mother and is all set.
9:16 a.m. Collins Street — Noise Complaint — Caller reported a female subject was in the stairwell with a boom-box and she could hear the music through the walls; it had awakened she and her son. Caller advised police that since she had been arrested for the same complaint she would female subject told to keep the noise down.
Action — Officer spoke with subject who said she did not have a boom-box playing but would keep the noise down. A second call was made at 9:39 a.m. reporting that they were now jumping up and down on the floor. This was going to be an on going problem because Caller had been charged with disorderly conduct because of a complaint by the subject.
10:14 a.m. Route 161 — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Police were informed of a vehicle operating erratically.
Action — Vehicle was stopped on Spring Street; female operator said she was really tired because she had just gotten off work. Officer believed her to be sleep deprived; escorted her to Lyndon Street.
11:15 a.m. Grimes Road — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Caller reported a vehicle had driven by she and her kids while they were on horseback without slowing down or giving the horses the right0of-way. Caller said she had waived to the driver to slow down and the subject had flicked her off. Caller wanted this on record.
11:55 a.m. Route 89 — Theft — Caller reported two female subjects had entered the store then left in their vehicle; thought they may have taken something from the store.
Action — Officer will watch for vehicle.
12:02 a.m. Fort Road — Suspicious Person — Caller reported a male subject walking across the bridge in hunting gear, carrying a bow.
Action — Officer checked and found male subject was just walking the trail. No problem.
5:15 p.m. Limestone Street — Domestic — Female caller requested police come to her residence as her husband was assaulting her son.
Action — Officer located subject who advised his son was supposed to have mowed the lawn and hadn’t so he was told to stay in his room. When the juvenile came down to eat supper after being told not to do so and male subject had taken his plate of food and rubbed it into the juveniles face. Officer spoke to juvenile and mother. There were no visible marks made by the food; were some scratches on his chest but they looked like self-inflicted like you would get with an annoying itch, nothing that looked like a hit or a burn. Issue was forwarded to DHHS as a referral.
6:18 p.m. Harvest Road — Disorderly Conduct — Caller reported a neighbor had been yelling at a child for some time. The child took off running toward Main Street, running out of her shoes and the mother was still hollering, thinking the child was hiding.
Action — Officer spoke with child who was walking back home.
6:45 p.m. Cary Medical Center — Agency Assistance — Police were requested to assist with a female patient.
Action — Officer located female subject and escorted her back inside without incident.
10:15 p.m. Van Buren Road — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Caller advised following a vehicle from Van Buren and stated the vehicle was weaving, fluctuating speed and crossing the center line.
Action — Officer stopped vehicle and found driver was not intoxicated but had advised he was watching for moose more than paying attention to vehicle operation.
6:05 a.m. River Road — Assault/Domestic Violence — Male came into the police station reporting he had broken-up with a female companion several weeks ago and he had gone over that morning because a male subject was not at home and the female had requested him to come help locate him. Male advised that the problems started when he got a call from his new girlfriend, then a second call which upset the female subject and they began arguing and as he was trying to leave she started to hit him on the back. Male reported that he had to push her off of him twice and she then jumped on his back and scratched his face.
Action — Police went to the residence and spoke with female subject who said that basically what the male had reported. She said that he had said some things that would make any wife mad and she admitted to hitting him first. Subject said that he had shoved her to the ground twice and she admitted that she had her arm around his head and she had scratched him as he was getting her arm off. Female understood what she had done and understood that she would be charged with assault/domestic violence. Male came in to the police station and said he would rather no charges with pressed and would like only a card be made for future reference. Officer advised that he would speak to the district attorney who would be the one to decide if charges would be pressed.
