The Presque Isle Indoor Pool hosted the Aquatic Special Olympics Oct. 24. There were 90 athletes registered to participated from 13 different schools and agencies. The following schools participated: MSAD 70 (Hodgdon) and MSAD 1 (Presque Isle), Limestone, Caribou, Wisdom and Opportunity Training Center.
The following agencies also participated: Work Opportunity Center, Work Activity Center, Adult Multiple Alternative Center, St. John Valley Association, Green Valley Association, Personal Services Aroostook and Northern Maine General.
Individual winners in the 50-yard freestyle were: R.J. Doucette (C), Craig Dufour (SJVA), Rena Young(AMAC), Chad McAdam (WOC), Derek Mueller (SJVA) ,Jason Sprague (C), Amber Schwendeman (WOC), Ivan Johnston (WOC) ,Elisha Blum Evitts (GVA) ,Brad Cyr (PI), Mandy Lyman (OTC). Sean Graves (PIHS), Patrick Burns (C) and Justin Akerson (C).
Second place winners in the 50-yard freestyle were: Devon LaCasse (C), Patty Searles (AMAC) , Elaine Ouellette (MNG), Jamie Kemper (WOC), Richard Wilcox (WOC), Sarah Knowles (WOC), Michelle Dyer (WOC), Josh Steggall (PIHS), Jesse Pierson (C), Reno Little (C) and Rebecca Dillenbeck (L).
Third place winners were: Alex Sprague (L), Erika Thiela (SJVA), Renee Anderson (PSA), Robbie York (WOC), Judith Drury (WOC), Nancy Hart (NMG) and Brandan Davis (C) .

Individual winners in the breaststroke were: Nancy Hart (NMG), Elaine Ouellette (NMG), Hillary Griffin PI), and Alex Sprague (L). Rebecca Dillenbeck (L) placed second and Jason Sprague (L) placed third.
Hillary Griffin placed first in 25-yard butterfly.
The following individuals placed first in the 15-yard adapted swim: Eric Thibeault (OTC), Normand Corriveau (SJVA), Damien Silva (C), Bea Akerson (C), Daniel Dillenbeck (OTC) and Tiara Currie Peters (MSAD 70). Second-place winners were Lucien Roy (NMG), Jessica Simonds (OTC), Daniel Ross (C) and Daniel Chartier (C),
Third-place winners were: Roger Roy (NMG) and Marissa Keaton( C).
Individual winners in the 10-yard adapted swim were: Daniel Dillenbeck (OTC), Tiara Currie Peters (MSAD 70), Lucien Roy (NMG), Damien Silva (C) and Daniel Ross (C).
Second-place winners were: Taylor Thibeault (OTC), Jessica Simonds (OTC), Roger Roy(NMG), Daniel Chartier (C) and Bea Akerson . Claudette Dupery (NMG) and Marissa Keaton (C) placed third.

Volunteers that assisted with the swim meet were members of the Caribou and Presque Isle varsity swim teams and other students from Presque Isle High School and Presque Isle Middle School.
