Hoop coaches clinic tonight
    The Maine Association of Basketball Coaches is sponsoring a free basketball coaches clinic, to be held at Caribou High School tonight.
    The local clinic will run from 6-8:30 p.m. and among the scheduled clinicians are Presque Isle coaches Tim Prescott and Jeff Hudson. Call 493-4274 for more information. Athletes of the week
    Cross country runners Jason Johnson and Alecia Palmer were named Presque Isle High School Varsity Club/Big Cheese Pizza athletes of the week for Oct. 20-25.
    Johnson and Palmer finished 18th and fifth, respectively, in the boys’ and girls’ division of the Eastern Maine Class B Regional Championships in Belfast Oct. 25.
    Both received a large, one-item pizza, courtesy of Big Cheese Pizza.
Nordic racing coaches clinic planned in Fort Kent
    The Maine Winter Sports Center coaching staff will offer an afternoon clinic aimed at middle school and high school Nordic ski coaches on Sunday, Nov. 9 from 1-4 p.m. at the 10th Mountain Center in Fort Kent.
    A $5 fee for the clinic will include lunch and U. S. Ski Team materials.
