Mrs, Hadley (Pat) Coolong, formerly a resident of Patten is now a resident of Island Falls, since the first  of December. She is at the home of her daughter, Susan York. She will be living there permanently as a companion to Susan, who has been by herself and needed company. Pat has had many of her Patten friends visit since her arrival and looks forward to many more in the future.
Clayton and Priscilla Varney have returned home after spending several days in Winterport during the Christmas season with their son, Nickie, Carol and family.
Roger Webb was a Christmas Day dinner guest of his niece, Melissa and husband, Frank Porter, enjoying a great home-cooked Christmas dinner with the family. He also received calls from his brothers, one in Bangor and one in South Carolina.
I have been busy keeping all my feathered friends fed during the cold days that we have had. Don’t know what they will do when I leave for the winter the first of the month. Sure hope they find Joyce Mathers feeders and the lady who lives by Rod Willette’s house and feeds birds all the time.
One day last week, after the big snow storm I did finally see a set of tracks that came up to my vegetable garden area and then back along the edge of the woods and back into the deep woods. Some coyotes have been seen in the area and therefore, we are all hoping that the deer family has not been a coyote dinner.
