PRESQUE ISLE – Katherine E. Pictou, 27, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, in Presque Isle. She was born in Presque Isle on Nov. 23, 1981, the daughter of Shannon and Sandra (Getchell) Pictou.
She graduated from Presque Isle High School, class of 1999. She currently was a student at the Northern Maine Community College in Presque Isle, majoring in business administration and accounting. She was a honor student and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa society, served on the student senate, and was a student representative on the NMCC Foundation Board.
Katherine is survived by her parents of Mapleton; a son, Austin Broad and a daughter, Natanya Pictou, both of Mapleton; her paternal grandfather, Francis J.E. Pictou of Mars Hill; her maternal grandmother, Caroline Francis of Presque Isle; and a sister, Heather Getchell of Mass.; and her companion Toby Gagnon of Bridgewater.
Relatives and friends called 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009 at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services were held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Nathan Gardiner officiating.
