A reading program introduced to parents of newborn babies at Cary Medical Center is a collaboration with the Friends of the Caribou Public Library.
The program, entitled “Babies and Books,” provides the family with their babies first library card, a variety of handouts that give tips and suggestions for age appropriate activities, a free board book, an invitation to come to “Mother Goose Time” from the time the baby is born and a certificate of completion when the child reaches one year old. At that time a book will be placed in the children’s section with the baby’s name in it stating that they have completed the “Babies and Books” Program.
Recent graduates from the “Babies and Books” program were Austin Belanger and Tyler Andretta.
