The meeting of the Happy Losers was held Feb. 4 at the Congregational Church vestry in Island Falls.
Our leader Jackie Pratt opened our meeting with our pledge and roll call. We had eight ladies weigh-in and attend our class. Loretta Bouchard was the loser of the week and Dotty Rand was runner-up. Great job ladies.
Our secretary and treasurer gave reports for the week. Hilda Clukey was the loser of the month of January and runner-up was Glady Corneil.
Jackie Pratt led the program for the week. Her topic was an article about the Japanese Diet. It was an interesting topic, especially about two bananas for breakfast. Meetings are always enlightening.
Please feel welcome to our group every Wednesday morning from 7:30 to 8:45. The weigh-in and meeting begins at 9. Call 365-4884 for more information.

Kay Grass and Charlotte Marley will bring in valentine poems for the next meeting. All members are reminded to bring a cup, to be wrapped. The cup will be exchanged with another member during the meeting.
The walking program is in full force. Last week we walked 322 miles, as reported by our leader Joyce. We are walking to Spring Hill, Tenn. to visit Betty Ivey’s daughter Robin.
The subject of Joyce’s talk was choosing to change. We are all subject to change. We change something everyday and it is second nature. Here are some of the things we change: our mind, our goals, telephone number, name, tires, batteries, shoes, channel, menu, light bulbs, approach and appointments. We should apply the things we need to change. We all should have a mentor. If you don’t, please get one. We should reach out to our mentor.
The next meeting will be Feb. 13, the valentine program. The meeting will start at 9 a.m. after weighing from 8-8:45.
If you need more information about the chapter please call Betty Ivey at 532-9653 or Charlotte Ivey at 757-8483.
