On Friday night, Feb. 27, at the benefit dinner for Echo Crouse, the Limestone community showed its true giving spirit and turned out in droves despite the weather. After a delicious meal, many items were donated for raffles, but the sweetest deal seemed to be the brownie truffle brought by Ellen Langley. During the drawings, Langley won her own confection. Her sister, Linda Harvey, mounted a nearby chair and the sisters auctioned off the dessert to the eager crowd. In the end, Kathy Tamburello, her son Jasper, and Mary Webster pooled their money and won the truffle, for a total of $100.
