Jr. Miss and Miss Teen Caribou contestants

    The fifteenth annual Jr. Miss Caribou and the first annual Miss Teen Caribou pageants will take place on March 15, at 7 p.m. in the Caribou Performing Arts Center.  The theme for the 2009 pageant is “Enchanted”. The junior level pageant is a preliminary for the Jr. Miss Potato Blossom pageant to be held in July concurrent with the Potato Blossom Festival.

    Vying for the titles of Jr. Miss and Miss Teen Caribou are, in front, from left, Regan Buck, Emma Duplisse-Cyr and Reanna Plourde.     The evening will open with a dance number featuring all the contestants and Natasha Bishop, Jr. Miss Caribou, 2008.
    Following the opening number the contestants will compete in the following categories:  physical fitness, talent, gown and interview.
    Contestants for the Jr. Miss competition include: Reanna Lynn Plourde, the daughter of Russell and Melinda Plourde, who will play the piano for the talent presentation. Also, Regan Buck, daughter of Steven and Pamela Buck, who will be presenting a piano selection for her talent and Emma Duplissie Cyr, the daughter of Tim Cyr and Tina Duplissie,  will sing a vocal selection for her talent presentation.  
    Contestants vying for the Miss Teen Caribou title are: Erin Kinney, the daughter of John and Ethel Kinney, who will present a dance routine. Ashley C. Ouellette, the daughter of Luke and Christine Ouellette, presenting a vocal selection and Kayla Collins, the daughter of Shawn and Heidi Manter and Scott Collins, who will sing as her talent presentation. Also participating in the Miss Teen Caribou event are: Alyson Michaud, daughter of Hope and Scott Walton, she will also present a vocal selection and  Brianna Gorence performing a tap-dance routine.  She is the daughter of Richard and Paula Gorence.
    Sponsors for the evening are Red’s Motor Sports, Northstate Transportation, County Physical Therapy, Fredericks Southside, Reno’s Family Restaurant, Griffeth Ford Lincoln Mercury, Tim Cyr, Occupational Therapist, Hope and Scott Walton, Richard and Paula Gorence, Small Steps Dance and Storage Solutions.
    Special entertainment throughout the evening will be provided by  Jr. Miss Caribou 2008 Natasha Bishop and Miss Caribou 2008 Sheri Zbylut.
    Admission to the pageant is $6.00 per person.  Tickets can be purchased from any of the contestants or at the door.
