LIMESTONE – Marie G. Cote, 91, passed away Wednesday March 4, 2009 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born January 27, 1918 in Drummond, N.B. Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Anne (Daigle) Cote. Marie prepared school lunch at the Limestone Elementary School for nearly twenty years and also in her spare time enjoyed fly fishing. She was a communicant of St. Louis Catholic Church as well as a member of the Daughters of Isabella and Ladies of St. Anne.
Marie is survived by three children: Theresa Poitras and her husband Garth of Feasterville, Penn., Galen Cote and his wife Michealla of Presque Isle, Linda Greene and her husband Stephen of Limestone, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind nine siblings: Cecile Michaud, Atoine Cote, George Cote, Maurice Cote, Philip Cote, Helen Michaud, Gemma Raymond, Adele Pelletier, Jakie Theriault, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Charles P. Cote, a daughter Rachel Mae Dairo, four brothers: Louis Cote, Lionel Cote, Adrian Cote, Gildore Cote, two sisters: Ida Deuville, Demrise Cote.
Friends called from 9 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, at the Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Limestone with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie celebrant. A reception followed the service in the church fellowship hall. Interment will take place in the spring at St. Louis Cemetery, Limestone. Arrangements in care of Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home.
