Jacob Plavnick of Caribou is an eighth grade student at the Caribou Middle School where he is a member of the tennis team. He is anticipating the move next year with the rest of his class to the high school where they will all become members of the Freshman class. Plavnick, like most other eighth-graders ponders this step with mixed emotions but one thing he is trying to make sure of is that during his class’s final week at the middle school, things will be done up right.

Left, Jacob Plavnick, an eigth-grader at Caribou Muddle School, designed most of the equipment used by G-Force Laser Tag with help from his father. You may have noticed the vehicle around town with G-Force Laser printed on it. This is Plavnick’s father’s car and the G-Force Laser Tag is their company. G-Force Laser, a team based activity, has become quite popular around the area and Plavnick designed, with his father, most of the equipment used in the game.
But this time the young entrepreneur isn’t advertising his business although he will be operating it at the Caribou Wellness Center, Friday, March 13. This time, however all proceeds from the two hour event will be designated by Plavnick to the eighth grade at the Caribou Middle School to be used to help cover the costs for the Eighth Grade Recognition Night.
Caribou Middle School Principal Susan White stated, “It’s really nice to see one of our own students step up like this, it’s really appreciated and says an awfully lot about Jacob.”
Jacob Plavnick commented, “No one shows up for our dances. I wanted to do something for our Eighth Grade Recognition activities and this gives the kids something to do.”
The event on Friday will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. for students in grades five and six. Those in grades seven and eight will have the opportunity to play G-Force Laser Tag from 6-8 p.m.
The cost for playing G-Force Laser Tag will be $10.
