Recent visitors at Sam Sewell’s home have been daughter, Gail Kennett, and husband, John and when the Kennetts returned home Sam accompanied them and will be gone for about a week.
Walt and Gwen O’Roak have returned to Camden after spending several days at their home here. They expect to return some time soon and spend the summer.
Mrs. Nora (Socia) Willigar, of Crystal and son, Ricky, from East Millinocket, have returned home after spending several days in Fredericksburg, Virginia visiting with Ricky’s daughter, Sonia, her husband Jeremy and their two sons.  Sonia’s husband is a pilot for the helicopter used by President Obama and they were able to go aboard. They also had a tour of the White House, which included the Oval office, pressroom, briefing room, executive offices and the Rose Garden.
Nora said it was a great experience and she really enjoyed every minute.
I still have the nuthatches, chickadees and blue jays coming to the feeders and every other day or so, the mourning doves appear. I haven’t seen the female cardinal in awhile, but then, I’m not watching as carefully as I had been. Since the rain, my back lawns have been pretty wet and sloppy, so I have been putting deer food up nearer the house. It is gone by morning, so they are still around.
I noticed that the ice on Mattawamkeag Lake is pretty thin and the lower lake is clear, as is the thoroughfare. With the wind and rain the upper lake will soon be clear. I know that friends who have camps on the upper lake will be glad to hear this.
