HOULTON and WINDSOR LOCKS, CT – Marie C. (Conlogue) Stine, 74, of Windsor Locks, loving mother of five and adoring grandmother of thirteen, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, April 25, 2009. She was born on December 21, 1934 in Houlton, ME. Marie was the daughter of the late Edward L. and Jeanette Mary (Allison) Conlogue. She was a 1952 graduate of Houlton High School and a 1955 graduate of Catherine Laboure School of Nursing. Marie began her nursing career at Madigan Hospital in Houlton and worked as a nurse throughout her life, most recently at Aetna Insurance. She moved to Windsor Locks in 1973 to be closer to her family. Marie will be remembered for her strong Catholic faith and her generosity to many charities. She enjoyed UCONN Women’s Basketball, getaways with her sisters and friends and most of all her grandchildren, of whom she was very proud.
Marie leaves a son, Martin K. Stine and his wife Ellen of Medina, OH; a son, Scott P. Stine and his wife Jamie of Newington, CT; a daughter, Jill S. Osborn and her husband Thomas of Enfield, CT; a daughter Rebecca S. Betterton and her husband Chuck of Granby, CT, a daughter Judith L. Stolar of Enfield, CT and thirteen grandchildren: Matthew, Andrew and Catherine Stine; Bailey, Kassidy and Logan Stine, Kevin, Erin and Avery Osborn, Emily and Daniel Betterton and Zachary and Katrina Stolar.
She is survived by her sister Joan Lanzone of Long Beach, CA; her sister Jeanette Hamilton and her husband Malcolm of Windsor Locks, CT; her sister Sr. Theresa Conlogue of Augusta, ME; her brother Eugene Conlogue and his wife Darlene of Ashland, OR; her sister Sr. Ruth Conlogue of Portland, ME and her brother-in-law Robert Grant of Windsor Locks, CT. She was pre-deceased by
her sister Elizabeth Grant and her brother-in-law William Lanzone.
Family and friends will gather on Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Windsor Locks Funeral Home by 9:15 a.m. for a procession to St. Mary’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Marie’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks, CT 06096.
