Gilmour, Kenneth Miles Jr., 80, Presque Isle; in Presque Isle, May 9, 2009. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle. Friends may call 12 noon until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will take place following the service at Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle. Arrangements in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

 

    PRESQUE ISLE – Kenneth Miles Gilmour Jr., 80, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2009, at a Presque Isle hospital.  He was born December 18, 1928, in Presque Isle, the son of Kenneth and Ferne (Carter) Gilmour Sr.  Image
    Ken was a professional truck driver for Sanborn / APA for 25 years before retiring in 1991. He drove millions of safe driving miles without any accidents and was recognized many times for his driving achievements during his career.  He was a member of the Teamsters Local #340 as well as an inactive member of the Elks Club.  Ken was a devoted family man who put his family first.  He was very generous and giving to family and friends.  He loved cars, trucks, and NASCAR and had a collection of replicas of each.
    He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Christine (Bates) Gilmour of Presque Isle; two sons: Kerry and his wife Colleen of Sabattus, Kevin and his wife Heather of Presque Isle; a daughter, Sharon Saucier and her husband Neil of Presque Isle; six grandchildren: Tyler Gilmour of Sabattus, Bradley Gilmour of Orlando, FL, Michelle Bragdon of South Paris, Shannon Lyford of Presque Isle, Kamryn and Karlyn Gilmour both of Presque Isle; four great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He will be missed by all his family and friends. In addition to his parents, Ken was predeceased by two sisters: Ruth Murphy, and June Staton.  
    Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday May 13, 2009, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle with Dana Hews officiating.  Friends may call from 12 noon until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will take place following the service at Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle. The family extends an invitation for refreshments in the reception area of the funeral home following the committal.  Those who wish may make donations in Ken’s memory to the charity of their choice.  Condolences may be expressed at www.duncan-graves.com.
