Newly-crowned royalty
Two queens were crowned in Bridgewater on Saturday, May 9. All the contestants took part in the opening routine “It’s A Pirate’s Life For Me.”
Named Junior Miss Bridgewater was Whitnie Bradbury. The daughter of Bart and Heather Bradbury, Whitnie sang “Love Story” as her talent.
The Little Miss pageant was very entertaining, with five very talented contestants.
Samantha Faulkner sang “King of the Road” as her talent. She is the daughter of Erin Proctor and Wayne Faulkner. She was named third princess.
Sabrina Brewer, daughter of Mark and Stefanie Brewer, recited a poem titled “Sick” as her talent. She was named fourth princess.
Breann Bradbury, named second princess, is the daughter of Bart and Heather Bradbury. She sang “Skunk in the Trunk” as her talent.
Kristen Foote, daughter of Myron and Susana Foote, was named Little Miss Bridgewater 2009. She recited a poem titled “Practically Perfect” as her talent.
Michaela Goff was named first princess. The daughter of Erick and Melody Goff, she danced to “Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride” as her talent.
Rotary Club
The Mars Hill Rotary Club met at the Aroostook Health Center on Tuesday, May 5, at 6:30 a.m. The special speaker was Miss Greater Mars Hill 2009 Meagan McClay. She plans to attend Husson College to study pre-pharmacy.
Meagan has participated in many clubs and sports in high school, and is the Senior Class president. She is also a state FFA officer. She will be working through the summer and will participate in many parades, as well as the Potato Blossom Pageant.
Library happenings
On Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon, the library will be having cribbage games, so bring your friends and your boards. The more the merrier.

The library is interested in offering computer skills programs for community members. Please call the library for information or to sign up for a class.
If your group is looking for a meeting space, the library is also pleased to offer free meeting spaces. Please call the library to reserve a space today.
Knit or crochet on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 – 7:30 at the library. Enjoy each other’s company while you work on your chosen project.

Bridgewater Historical Association
On Thursday, May 14, the BHA will kick off its music schedule with the Thursday Night Live Music by “Outside In.” The music will begin at 6 p.m. and go until 9 p.m. Grab your dancing shoes and come enjoy yourself. They play a wide variety of music including country, old-time rock ’n roll, 60’s pop and standards. Refreshments will be available at the hall.
Thanks to past donations, the BHA has begun to replace the hall’s PA system. A sincere thank-you to all the supporters. Future donations will continue to go toward completing the system.
A new event planned for this year is a Line Dance Class, to be held on Wednesday nights beginning on May 20 from 7 – 8:30 p.m.
The BHA will be holding a Bake Sale on Saturday, May 23. Stay tuned for updates on the Bake Sale and other events happening at the hall this year. Bridgewater may be small, but it’s a happenin’ place!
Bridgewater Community Club
The Bridgewater Community Club continues to meet on the last Thursday of each month with some exceptions. All are welcome. For more information, contact Pat Lenentine at 429-9444.
Bridgewater Creative Crafting
On the first and third Thursdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Civic Community Center in Bridgewater, crafters are encouraged to join together to work on various projects.
Bring your own supplies and projects as you share your knowledge of various crafts. Work together or individually with quilting, knitting, sewing, embroidery, crocheting, scrapbooking, etc. Everyone is welcome!
