His service to others is like no other

To the editor:
Christians in our community yearn to hear God’s words that nourish and strengthen us on our spiritual journey with his son, Jesus. God sends us an invitation to join him and set things right in our lives. We do not have to do it alone! In this invitation, God wants to work with us to bring about the “right things” in his promises. Our loving God always says, “Let us” not, “I’ll fix it” because he respects and understands our human will and weaknesses.     When we hear his word, reflect on it, pray and live it. We formed a partnership with him. The Bible calls it a covenant, “Let us work together” … a wonderful invitation to act upon his words of love.
Today, we need to hear Gods’ message that calls us to a right relationship with others. Whether it’s feeding the hungry, visiting and taking care of the sick, leading a flock of sheep (us) and bringing home the lost, in a Christian community it means only one thing: living the example that Jesus showed us to serve others with all our talents, energy and love, hence the song, “Like a shepherd he feeds his Flock and gathers the Lambs in his arms, holding them carefully close to his heart, leading them home.” When we do this, we are responding to God’s call to “let us set things right” by abiding in His love and accepting His will through his Son, Jesus Christ. This message is based on the Gospel of John to benefit the community with the love of Jesus.
Let his light shine in you and may the word of God nourish and strengthen you all as you journey with him in your life.
