The Greater Houlton Christian Academy Lady Eagles returned a strong nucleus of veteran players, with all but one senior coming back this season.
Megan Carroll and Kasi Parker are the only seniors on the team and are expected to carry the team offensively. Parker and Kiki Smart are the Lady Eagles’ battery.
First-year outfielder Mikayla Wiley shows much promise, according to 10-year coach Wayne Watson.
“The team is and will be more competitive this year,” Watson added. “The team’s strengths are in their ability to have fun and to get along well together. They have the fundamentals down now, and they run well, and play decent defense.”
The areas of improvement for the Lady Eagles are consistent pitching control, timely hitting, and confidence.
But, overall, the Lady Eagles are looking to get better as the season progresses, adding more wins in the column.
