The Halls of Houlton seem fairly empty with the seniors graduated. Many are still involved with working on the yearbook and tennis, baseball and softball, so we still see them occasionally. Last Chapel and graduation are highlights of the end-of-the-year events, but other awards events will also take place this week. The Senior High Recognition Assembly will take place on Wednesday, June 10, at 9:15 a.m. and the Middle School Awards Assembly is on Friday, June 12, at 8:30 a.m. Parents are welcomed to attend both events. The staff at HHS would like to recognize the generosity of parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, local businesses and organizations, and friends of the school. Each year, the Houlton Lodge of Elks donates their building for Project Graduation, which was a huge success this year with many gifts of money and prizes given to the seniors. Donations to Project Graduation, class and club fund-raisers, Dollars for Scholars, Sports Boosters, the music department fund-raisers – the list goes on. Without your help, so many of the activities the students enjoy and depend on would not be possible. We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing and fun-filled summer.
