CLIC (Chipputneticook Lakes International Conservancy) is again offering scholarships to Greenland Point Center. Two young people from the St. Croix Watershed area will receive $100 toward the $400 tuition for one-week camps of their choice.
Greenland Point Center is an environmental education center on Long Lake in Princeton. It is duly licensed by the Department of Human Services as a children’s camp, “investing in youth through conservation education.” GPC is situated on a 64-acre peninsula which extends into Long Lake. The peninsula is covered with a mature forest rich in wildlife. Programs offered center around outdoor activities emphasizing respect for and appreciation of the beauty and ecology of the area.
The one-week programs begin on Sunday with a 4 p.m. registration and end at 11 p.m. the following Friday. They are offered to students between the ages of 8 through 15, depending on the particular session chosen. Sessions begin June 21 and continue through August 7.
Brochures with course descriptions and registration information are available from Ann Barnes, CLIC scholarship chair. She can be reached at 448-7094 or by e-mail at pegone@mfx.net.
