Louisiana-Pacific Corporation (LP) (NYSE: LPX) announced that Ashley Cleary, daughter of LP employee Skip Cleary, and a graduate of Houlton High School has been selected as a recipient of the 2009 LP Scholarship. The annual $1,500 award is renewable for three additional years, for a total of $6,000 over a four-year period.
Fifteen children of LP employees across the U.S. and Canada have been awarded the LP Scholarship this year. Recipients of the competitive scholarship are selected based on a number of factors, including academic record, leadership, community involvement, goals and aspirations.
The LP Scholarship Program was established more than 30 years ago for college-bound children of LP employees. The program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, an independent, non-profit organization.
