PRESQUE ISLE — Police are looking for the person or persons responsible for vandalizing buildings at the Northern Maine Fairgrounds just over a week ago.     A fair official contacted the Presque Isle Police Department June 8, reporting someone had spray painted several symbols on buildings at the fairgrounds. Sgt. Eric Erickson, of the PIPD, responded to investigate.
“There was a significant amount of spray painting done on the Grandstand and Beer Garden sometime the night before,” said Erickson, noting the graffiti appeared to be drug-related symbols.
Cleanup by fair personnel got under way late last week.
A representative for the Fair Association requested police perform extra patrols of the area as time allows.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact 764-4476.
