Long-time members were recognized during the June 29 meeting of the Presque Isle Rotary Club.
Outgoing President Jane Towle awarded Membership Milestone awards to those with membership times between five and 25-plus years. In particular, Rotarian Larry Clark was honored for 40 years of membership and service to the club. Also, Clint Watson, Dick Duncan and Mary Hunter were designated as honorary members.
“There is 1,189 total years of service in our club.” Towle said.
Incoming Club President Nancy Fletcher updated the club on the committee co-chairs for 2009-10: Attendance/Sergeant-at-Arms, Gretchen Morse and Scott Violette; Classification/Membership, Milt Smith and Richard Engels; Club Service, Marcus Barresi and Steve St. Pierre; Fellowship, Scott Carlin and Charlie Beck; Mentoring, James Burrill and Virginia Joles; Public Relations and Marketing, Susan Grove-Markwood and Jason Parent; Rotary Foundation, Mike MacPherson and Sharon Campbell; Youth, Eric Waddell and Frank Keenan; Scholarship, Joe Lallande and Eric Waddell; and World Community Service, Robert Grove-Markwood and Joy Barresi Saucier.
Fletcher also announced that Joy Barresi-Saucier will be trained to be the club’s compliance officer and Ralph McPherson is continuing as the Assistant District Governor for District 1.
Local Rotarians continue to collect donations for the upcoming Radio-Television Auction in late November.
