There was an 80th birthday party for Wilmont Larsen at Patsy and Charlie Holmquist’s home in Presque Isle on July 3. His actual birthday is June 23.
Those attending from out of town were: Erla-Lee Duncan from Fort Fairfield, Josh Jones from Blaine, Paula and Fay York from Mapleton, Nan and Graydon Buckingham from Washburn, JoAnn and Scott Sargeant from Gardiner, Matthew and Allissa Mank from Gardiner, Jennifer Holmquist from Gray, James Holmquist from Bangor, Aaron Sargeant from Gardiner, Dot and Willie Larsen from Dover-Foxcroft, and Paul and Laurie Corveau from Presque Isle. Those attending from Easton were: Geraldine Flewelling, Phyllis Nadeau, John and Electra Blodgett and Laurie and Vaughn Martin.
On July 5, 12 of them went to Governor’s for breakfast and a good time was had by all.
Today’s birthdays include: Josh King, George Donnarummo, Roger Condon Sr., Casey Richardson and Taylor Nightingale. Happy birthday to you all. It is also Mark and Kelly Allen’s anniversary.
On July 16 Jessica Littlefield has a birthday. Also happy birthday to Brittany Lundeen from Mars Hill.
Birthday wishes go to Mikaela Hathaway, Brad Wolverton, Lorena Sullivan and Kelley Desmond on July 17.
On July 18, Cameron Adams, Doug Holmes and Andrew King have birthdays. Happy birthday and anjoy your day. Also Terresa and Doug Holmes have an anniversary.
Celebrating their birthdays on July 19 are: Trevor Hathaway, Elvira McAdam and Crystal Smith. You can also wish Fred and Anita Rattray a happy anniversary on the 19th.
July 20 is a very special day for Mark Pendexter, Cindy Marquis, Dan Desmond, Liana Demerchant, Luke Budreau (better known as Budreau), Dan Ferris, Mark Allen, Jerod Cronkite, Jeff Pendexter and Caitlyn McPherson. Wow! That must be half of our town. I would like to express a very happy birthday to Luke Budreau on July 20. Maybe you can take me out for pizza on your birthday, Luke.
July 21 Sheldon and Maureen Hull, Allysa Beaton and Tammy Webber will be another year older. Have a great day everyone. Also Mia and Steve Pangburn celebrate their anniversary on July 21.
The Easton food pantry is asking anyone who wishes to donate fresh fruits and vegetables out of their gardens to feel free to drop them off. They would be greatly appreciated.
There will be a lunch with Chris at 11 a.m. on July 16. There will be a $2 charge. Chris will provide ideas on how to keep cool this summer with no-cook meals.
Wednesday, July 15 — Field trip to Turner’s Camp. The bus will depart at 9:30 a.m. and return at 4 p.m. There is no fee. Lunch will be provided. Children must have swim gear and life jacket. Major league baseball in Mars Hill at 5:30 p.m.The team will carpool from the Hall at 4:50 p.m. Tee-ball on the field behind the high school from 6-7 p.m.
Thursday, July 16 — Day Camp from 9 a.m.-noon. Today’s theme is “birthday party.” Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Senior luncheon in the manor recreation room starting at 11 a.m. The cost is $2. We will be going hiking and swimming for the afternoon. The bus will depart at noon and return at 4 p.m. Minor league game at Fort Fairfield. Players will carpool from the hall 5 p.m.
Friday, July 17 — Swimming lessons starting at 9 a.m. (the bus departs from the Hall at 8:35 a.m. and will return at 10:20 a.m.). Lunch will be provided. Playgroup (for children 6 and under) from 10:30-11:45 a.m. at the hall.
Monday, July 20 — Day Camp at the hall from 9 a.m.-noon. We will be going to tour the one-room schoolhouse, railroad depot and blockhouse in Fort Fairfield. There is no fee. Breakfast and lunch provided. “Hangout” time from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Swimming at the Fort Fairfield Outdoor Pool. The bus departs from the hall at 1:45 p.m. and will return at 4 p.m. Gymnastics Camp, location TBA. The beginners’ class will start at 2:30 p.m. and advanced beginners start at 3:15 p.m. Major league game at Washburn. Players will carpool from the hall 4:40 p.m.
Tuesday, July 21 — Day Camp at the hall from 9 a.m.-noon. Breakfast and lunch provided. Beginners’ gymnastics at 2:30 p.m. Advanced gymnastics class starting at 3:15 p.m.

Easton Recreation Department’s Day Camp recently visited the Wildlife Animal Refuge located on the former Loring Air Force Base. TOWN RIVALS PLAY OFF — Here is a picture of Jared Hafford sinking the ball at the foul line at the Easton vs. Mars Hill basketball tournament. Easton players, pictured from left: Luke Budreau (#42), Jared Hafford (shooting) and Jacob Bacon. Easton and Mars Hill played off at the tournament held in Easton last week. Easton came in second and Mars Hill won the trophy. Good job, boys.

Acacia Kimball is pictured with her pig, Calypso, while at the Houlton Fair. Acacia was judged on how she presented herself with Calypso, managing to keep her pig under control in the show ring and keeping her cool when things didn’t go as planned. Her pig weighed 145 lbs. Acacia belongs to the Easton Trotters 4-H Club.

Cooking Camp — Several youth from Easton have become better cooks this summer during Easton Rec’s Super Summer Cooking Camp. Taking part were: Christine Finnemore and Tammy Saucier — both instructors from the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, Kylee Carter, Wilder Mitchell, Delaney Leach, Alexis Pelkey, Nicolette Tompkins , Paige Flewelling, Sara Gilman and Kerrigan Arnett.

TROPHY WINNER — Acacia Kimball won a first-place trophy and a blue ribbon in the Intermediate Division Swine Show at the Houlton Fair. She was able to show the judge that she had taken good care of her pig while raising it.
