Dale Fowler of Woodland was recently honored at a surprise 80th birthday party given by family and friends. The July 29 event was held in Caribou at the Van Buren Road Lodge, which happens to be located on land formerly owned by Fowler.

Mr. Fowler turned 80 on June 2, but the surprise celebration was pulled together while a number of family members were home the last week in July for a family reunion. They included Betty Fowler of Woodland; Paula Fowler and Erin Kilby, Danville, Kentucky; Maia Fowler and Bob McElwain, Veazie; and David, Joyce, Megan and Courtney Fowler of Summerfield, North Carolina.
Other relatives joining in the surprise were: Bev and Phil McNeal, Bunny and Shirley Michaud, Rob, Tracey, Samara and Carter Cyr, Jack, Teelynne, Cody, Searra and Cory Herbert, Galen and Pam Michaud, and Nancy Theriault, all of Caribou. Rick, Katie, Dayna and Simone Michaud of Perham; Elizabeth Cochran and Dana and Deb Fowler of Woodland and Pat and Ethan Anderson of Westmanland.
Other friends attending the 80th birthday celebration were, Ruth and Ward Silsbee, Ken and Elsie Doody, Florence Gallagher, Nellie Langley, Bob and Yvette Lagasse and Kyle Anderson, all of Caribou. Francine Anderson, Larry Conrad, and Bud and Joanne Smith of Madawaska Lake and Lula McCrossin, Mavis Williams, Phyllis Brown and Doris and Ernest Chamberlain of Woodland.
